VPCT 2018 will take place from Thursday 8th to Saturday 10th of November 2018, in the University of Trás–os–Montes e Alto Douro, Vila Real, Portugal.

Keynote speakers, invited experts and reviewed poster and oral paper presentations will be providing a unique opportunity for interaction and debate around all meeting themes.

The scientific program of VPCT 2018 will consist of regular and special track sessions with technical contributions reviewed and selected by an international programme committee and keynote talks given by leading experts in their fields.

The meeting aims to provide a forum for the presentation, discussion and exchange of ideas and technologies between teachers of all educational levels, and attracts a large audience. Regular and special track presentations will cover a broad range of issues in (but not limited to) the following topics of Science and Technology (S&T) Education:
• Multimodal narratives and S&T classroom practices
• S&T learning in formal and informal contexts
• Tools (digital, etc.) in teaching and learning S&T
• science, technology and society
• dissemination of S&T
• Articulation among S&T teaching practices , Art and Literature


VCTP 2018 invites proposals for organisation of special tracks that will be held in parallel with the general meeting track. A special track consists of a group of papers in a sub- discipline of Science and Technology Education or a Specialised Field.

The themes of the special tracks should not overlap with the general meeting topics and should focus on specific subjects. Their papers should report on significant unpublished work and they are included in the meeting proceedings.

Organiser(s) of each Special Track (ST) are responsible for the quality of the papers in their track collaborating with Scientific Committee in the review process. ST organiser(s) in collaboration with the Program Committee Chairs will do the final paper selection. A successful special track will consist of at least 3-5 accepted papers per session and 1-2 sessions at maximum. For each successful ST organisation a free registration in the meeting will be provided.

If you are interested in organizing a Special Track, please submit your proposal before March 30, 2018 by email to blopes@utad.pt

Each proposal needs to include
– ST title;
– a brief biography of ST organizer(s)
– a proposal of at least 2 experts that may integrate the Scientific Committee;
– a draft of ST call for papers.
